JOB SUMMARY

This position is responsible for the estimating, sales, and project management of assigned construction projects. The Sales/Estimator/Project Manager develops and implements sales strategies, prepares accurate and competitive estimates, and serves as Project Manager on successfully awarded projects.

The position is responsible for managing projects from initial customer contact through completion and warranty, with a focus on customer satisfaction, quality, safety, scheduling, and financial performance.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

There are no direct supervisory responsibilities while performing Sales/Estimator duties. As Project Manager, this position provides direction to Project Superintendents and Foremen assigned to projects in coordination with the Construction Manager.

Responsibilities may include planning and assigning work, monitoring performance, addressing concerns, resolving problems, and helping ensure company policies, safety requirements, and project standards are followed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

SALES & ESTIMATING RESPONSIBILITIES

Serve as the primary Sales/Estimator for targeted customers and projects.

Estimate, value engineer, and sell design-build and other construction projects.

Develop and implement sales strategies in coordination with the President to support company sales and growth objectives.

Generate sufficient bidding opportunities to support new-order and sales goals.

Solicit and document pricing from material suppliers, subcontractors, and equipment vendors as required.

Identify product availability, exclusions, special conditions, and other factors that may affect proposals.

Evaluate vendor information and market conditions to assess the competitive position of bids.

Review plans and specifications and prepare detailed, accurate quantity takeoffs and cost estimates.

Obtain approval from the President for unusual or high-risk requirements before completing final estimates.

Stay informed about new products, construction methods, pricing, and potential cost-saving opportunities.

Compare actual field productivity with estimated productivity and adjust estimating rates when appropriate.

Review estimates exceeding $500,000 with the President before submitting them to customers.

Ensure proposals and price quotations are completed accurately and submitted within required deadlines.

Help ensure final contracts between T-Ross Brothers Construction and project owners appropriately protect the company's interests.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES

Serve as the primary liaison between T-Ross Brothers Construction and the customer from initial contact through project completion and the warranty period.

Develop and maintain strong customer relationships and provide a positive experience throughout the project.

Issue subcontract agreements and vendor purchase orders that protect the interests of T-Ross Brothers while meeting contractual obligations.

Manage the project submittal process.

Provide ongoing support from initial planning through project completion.

Assist Project Superintendents and Foremen with change orders, scheduling, cost tracking, estimated costs to complete, and other project needs.

Work with Project Foremen to develop strategies for maintaining project budgets, schedules, and company objectives.

Take responsibility for successful project completion within established profit projections.

Conduct monthly project margin reviews with Project Foremen and provide estimated final project costs to the Bookkeeper in a timely manner.

Ensure Project Foremen maintain company safety requirements and high-quality workmanship standards.

Coordinate with the Bookkeeper to ensure accurate and timely billing for contracts, change orders, and additional work.

Assist in resolving disputed invoices promptly and professionally.

Manage the final closeout of assigned projects.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION

A bachelor's degree in business, engineering, marketing, construction management, or a related discipline from an accredited four-year college or university is preferred.

Four years of relevant project management experience may be considered in place of a college degree.

EXPERIENCE

Minimum of 10 years of experience in the construction industry.

At least 7 years of direct industry experience.

At least 3 years of project management experience.

At least 3 years of estimating experience within the building or construction industry.

An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may also be considered.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP

The Carpenter reports directly to the assigned Project Manager and works closely with Project Foremen and other members of the construction team.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position has no regular supervisory responsibilities. The Carpenter may provide direction to less-experienced crew members or assist in a supervisory capacity when assigned, including serving as Assistant Foreman during the absence of the Project Foreman.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Work efficiently and effectively as part of a construction crew.

Perform rough framing, sheathing, drywall installation, roofing, siding, and other general carpentry work.

Read and understand basic construction drawings, plans, and schedules necessary to complete framing and finishing tasks.

Assist with instructing and training less-experienced members of the crew.

Install framing that is plumb, level, square, and true.

Install windows, pre-hung doors, and basic door hardware.

Commercial Construction Foreman

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP

The Commercial Construction Foreman reports directly to the assigned Project Manager and is responsible for overseeing day-to-day field operations on assigned construction projects.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Commercial Construction Foreman manages field personnel assigned to their projects and is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and performance of the crew.

Responsibilities include planning and assigning work, providing direction, monitoring performance, addressing jobsite concerns, resolving problems, and ensuring employees follow company policies, procedures, quality standards, and safety requirements.

Employee terminations are handled by the Company. Employees who are in direct violation of company policies or procedures may be removed from the jobsite by the Foreman when necessary.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Meet with the Project Manager as needed to review the scope, schedule, requirements, and expectations of each new project.

Keep the Project Manager informed of project progress, challenges, scheduling concerns, and other important jobsite developments.

Identify and communicate shortages, delays, or scheduling issues that could negatively affect project completion or costs.

The Superintendent manages all field personnel assigned to the project and is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, supervision, and performance of the project team.

Responsibilities include planning and assigning work, monitoring performance, providing leadership and training, addressing concerns, resolving problems, and ensuring employees follow company policies, procedures, quality standards, and safety requirements.

Oversee, direct, and coordinate all field aspects of construction projects from initial mobilization through completion and closeout.

NCCCO Crane Operator

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP

The Crane Operator reports to the assigned supervisor, Project Manager, or other designated member of management based on project requirements.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

There are no regular supervisory responsibilities associated with this position. The Crane Operator is expected to work closely with field personnel and other trades to ensure lifting operations are performed safely and efficiently.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Safely operate cranes to lift, move, position, and place materials, equipment, and other loads according to project requirements.

Plan and execute crane lifts while considering load weight, crane capacity, site conditions, equipment configuration, and applicable safety requirements.

Maintain a thorough understanding of crane controls, operating procedures, load capacity charts, boom angles, drum rotation indicators, and other equipment functions.

Read and understand construction plans, specifications, operator manuals, safety manuals, load charts, and other job-related documentation.

Interpret two-dimensional construction drawings and visualize their application in three-dimensional working environments.

Perform required daily crane and equipment inspections and accurately complete applicable OSHA-approved inspection records and maintenance logs.

Electrician

JOB SUMMARY

The Electrician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems for commercial and residential construction projects. This position works to ensure electrical systems are installed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications, applicable electrical codes, and T-Ross Brothers Construction standards.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP

The Electrician reports directly to the Construction Manager and works closely with Project Managers, Foremen, Superintendents, and other members of the construction team.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

There are no regular supervisory responsibilities associated with this position. The Electrician may provide instruction and guidance to less-experienced employees when necessary.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Read and interpret construction drawings, electrical plans, specifications, blueprints, and other project documents.

Install, assemble, maintain, test, troubleshoot, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, fixtures, and related components.

Diagnose malfunctioning electrical systems and components using appropriate testing equipment and hand tools.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP

The Lead Carpenter reports directly to the Project Foreman and works closely with other members of the field construction team.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Lead Carpenter provides day-to-day leadership and direction to carpentry crews, typically consisting of three to five employees. This position may also serve in an Assistant Foreman capacity during the absence of the Project Foreman.

Responsibilities may include assigning daily tasks, coordinating manpower and materials, monitoring productivity and workmanship, and training less-experienced crew members.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead and work efficiently as part of a carpentry crew.

Coordinate the daily activities of a three- to five-person crew to maintain productivity and project schedules.

JOB SUMMARY

The Structural Iron & Steel Worker/Erector is responsible for fabricating, assembling, and erecting structural steel and related components for commercial construction projects. This position works with structural steel, reinforcing materials, and metal components while performing cutting, welding, bolting, rigging, and installation according to project drawings, specifications, and safety requirements.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP

The Structural Iron & Steel Worker/Erector reports directly to the Structural Steel Foreman and works closely with crane operators, riggers, welders, and other members of the construction team.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

There are no regular supervisory responsibilities associated with this position. Employees are expected to work cooperatively with other crew members and may assist with training or providing guidance to less-experienced employees when appropriate.
