Project Overview
T-Ross Brothers Construction provided Design-Build services for the addition and renovation of Grace Lutheran Church in Berwick, Pennsylvania, expanding and improving the facility to better serve the congregation.
The project included a 4,100-square-foot addition and approximately 630 square feet of renovations to the existing church, creating expanded worship space along with a more functional and welcoming entrance and supporting areas.
The Challenge
Grace Lutheran Church needed additional space while also improving the functionality and flow of its existing facility. A primary objective was to reorient and expand the sanctuary, providing the congregation with a larger and more functional worship environment.
The project required carefully connecting new construction with the existing church, beginning with demolition of the existing air lock area and coordinating renovations around the portions of the facility that would remain.
Our Solution
Using a Design-Build approach, T-Ross Brothers coordinated the addition and renovation as a unified project, helping ensure the new construction integrated effectively with the existing facility.
The work included demolition of the existing air lock followed by construction of the 4,100-square-foot addition and renovation of approximately 630 square feet of existing space.
The sanctuary was expanded and reoriented to improve its functionality for worship and gatherings. A new entryway, narthex, and sacristy were also constructed, providing a more welcoming arrival experience while adding functional spaces supporting the church’s day-to-day activities.
